Sitting in a hammock near the pool sounds good, doesn’t it ? This is how my staying in Bura Surfhouse was.
The hostel, situated in a quiet area, away from the tourists in the city, gives you the opportunity to disconnect from the world and to enjoy every moment of your trip. It is only 3 minutes walking distance from the biggest supermarket from the city and only 15 minutes walking to the most beautiful beach: Porto de Mos.
Since the beginning I was pleasantly welcomed by their beautiful and joyful team and they offered me a welcome drink, on the house. As its name says, most of the team surfs and they have a very active life. All these were in my benefit because I found out about a trail of few hours walking where I managed to see 7 beaches.
And in order to have a full welcome, I climbed on the hostel’s terrace where I managed to see a marvelous sunset, a sun which was rushing to hide after Lagos’ houses. The terrace is the perfect place where you can read a book, look at the sunset or participate in their yoga classes.
I did a quick check in, they gave me a towel and a city map and I went to meet the hostel and the room where I was about to sleep.
Even though I shared the room with other 5 persons, it didn’t feel crowded because the room was spacious. Both the room and the bathroom were very clean.
The kitchen is fully equipped and very nice furnished, being a great shared common area to hang out and meet other guests because a chef of the team is cooking every evening omnivore and vegetarian menus from fresh local produces.
Outside, they have a clean and big enough pool, perfect if you are too lazy to walk to the beach or if you want to relax and tan. Also here they have a bar where you can buy beer for only 1 euro, you can play table tennis or drink cocktails and meet other team members.
The breakfast, included in the price, made the difference between Bura Surfhouse and other hostels. I got american pancakes and fruits: oranges, watermelon, grapes etc. Beside these there were 2 types of jam, cereals, milk, natural juices, tea and coffee.
No matter if you are a traveler or a backpacker, the super chill atmosphere of the Bura Surfhouse will make you feel like home and it will a place from which it will be hard for you to say goodbye.
