Koyao Island Resort- A piece of Paradise

One of the islands we decided to visit in Thailand was Koh Yao Noi, situated in the famous archipelago of Phang Nga Bay. Phang Nga Bay national park is a geological wonder filled with islets, sunken caverns and formation rising vertically from the sea. It is one of the most beautiful places in the southern Thailand. Some 10.000 years ago, when sea levels were lower, one could walk from Phuket to Krabi. With such amazing surroundings, we chose to accommodate at Koyao Island Resort, place where we spent a few perfect days and which I would now call Little Paradise.
Koyao Island Resort is surrounded by lovely, sandy beaches, rain forests and uninhabited islands in a place where mass tourism and hotels are far away and the original Thai hospitality has free reign.
Since we arrived we were greeted by a very well trained management team, always at our disposal and, of course, always smiling. Let’s not forget we were in The Land of Smiles. After we refreshed with a cherries welcoming drink, we were taken tour rooms. Because at Koyao Island Resort all rooms are Read more

Capsule Hopping in Singapore

What this button do? What about this one? And the other one? Look, there is another one.
Before going in a certain destination, I try to make a list with the things that I want to experience. And because Singapore is known as a futuristic city, we really wanted to try to sleep in capsule hotels. For the ones that are not familiar with this concept, a capsule hotel also known as a pod hotel, is a type of hotel developed in Japan that features a large number of extremely small “rooms” (capsules) intended to provide cheap, basic overnight accommodation for guests who do not require the services offered by more conventional hotels.
On the other hand, I must admit that we were a little bit scared of the thought of sleeping in a very small space where we couldn’t see the natural light in the morning. Despite all of these, Read more

Diving in The Gilis with Blue Marlin

I remember even now the day when we were pushing our bicycles through the hot sand in Gili Air, Indonesia and while passing in front of a dive centre, looking at it on our left side, we heard a voice with a foreign, different and beautiful accent asking us: „Hey guys, do you want to try scuba diving?”. Obviously that we wanted to try this, only that we were not determined enough to do it, we were missing that thing that would make us say a convincing YES. To be honest, we stopped only because he was Read more

Post Travel Depression, Symptoms

Did it ever happen to you to come back from a place from where you never wanted to come back? To think about the same place hour after hour, even a few days after you left it? If you answered “yes”, then most probably you understand how I feel.
We were in the car that was about to transfer us from the port to the hotel, together with Petri, when Read more

10 Reasons Why Gili Air Became Our Favourite Island

Untitleda.png
The closest island to Lombok, Gili Air is aptly named after the Indonesian word “air”  meaning “water”. It is the only Gili island to have natural underground fresh water walls. Gili Air is gem of a spot that allows you to sample the best of both worlds of the Gili islands- it has the relaxing charm of Gili Meno and a bit of the night life of Gili Trawangan. It is the most locally populated island with Read more

15 Photos to Inspire You to Visit Indonesia

untitled
“How many of the 17000 islands that Indonesia has will we manage to visit in 30 days?” This was the question that I asked myself when we chose Indonesia as the next destination after Thailand.
The 30 days visa which we got on arrival at the airport was not enough for us, so we chose to come back in Indonesia and explore it as it should be done. In the months that we spent there, we had the chance to explore Indonesia from Read more

How to Travel Bali on a Budget

bali-on-a-budget
If somebody would have asked me 2 years ago about Bali and about the cost of living there, I would probably answer that it is an expensive destination, suitable to the ones that want to spend their honey moon on an exotic island and opposed to the backpackers traveling on a budget. Something inside me kept telling me that it should also be possible in another way, a cheaper way. But the truth is that I would never imagined that I can easily live with only Read more

My best sunset at RLYC

I remember even now how I was walking last summer in the port of Monaco, admiring the yachts and I imagined how beautiful it would be to have the chance to sleep on one and float on the ocean. All these huge boats made me dream and they were sending me freedom and power feelings. I was imagining how great it would be to wake up with the sun in my front, its rays shining on the boat and me being surrounded by sea and dolphins.

In less than half a year, on the other side of the world, in Langkawi, our favourite island in Malaysia, we had the chance to spend some nights at RLYC – Royal Langkawi Yacht Club.  Since we arrived we were impressed by this place, by the yachts parked in the marina, by the swimming pool (we couldn’t wait to swim in it) and by theRead more

Bombora Surf Camp, Uluwatu

If you are a backpacker and you are traveling to Uluwatu, Bali, one of the accommodation possibilities is Bombora Surf Camp, very well located at 10 minutes walking from Padang Padang beach and close to some restaurants with delicious food.

When we were there, Bombora Surf Camp was in renovation, there were a lot of persons who were taking care of the improvement of the place in order to satisfy the needs of their clients. Even though, the Read more
