Our story from 48-storey skyscraper: Lanson Place Bukit Ceylon

Kuala Lumpur was the first destination from the third country in South East Asia, Malaysia. Even from the airport we realised that Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia is a different city from the ones that we saw so far in Thailand and Indonesia. The city is much more civilised, clean and evolved, making Kuala Lumpur a Shanghai of Malaysia in which you don’t even know where to turn your head and which skyscraper to watch. This is how I discovered how much I like to watch and admire these huge and impressive buildings.
For a unique experience and in order to see it from a level that suits this city best, we chose to spend 3 nights in Lanson Place Bukit Ceylon Serviced Residences, a 5 star hotel, 48 -storey high. Set in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle, walking distance to Bukit Bintang, KLCC and Berjaya Times Square, Lanson Place consists of 150 (1, 2 and 3 bedroom) serviced apartments and we were lucky enough to have an enormous 85 sqm one Bedroom Deluxe Residence, situated at 16^th floor.
Since we stepped out of the taxi that transferred us from the airport to the hotel, we were amazed by the modern and minimalist style, combined with elegance and luxury. The entrance in the hotel is made through a glass passage crossing a small fountain.

In the moment when we opened the door and saw on the table, close to a fresh fruits basket, a personalised welcoming note signed by the general manger of the hotel, we knew we will feel like home, having around us a friendly team. My anxiousness instantly disappeared and we immediately started to dance, forgetting about how tired we were when we saw through the window, in front of us, the two wonderful Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur’s signature.

From the living  area we had a panoramic view of the Petronas Towers, of the Kuala Lumpur Tower and of the city. From the bedroom we could also see the lovely city and below, at the 5^th floor, the huge swimming pool.

This is why, for the first time in 2 months of traveling, we chose not to do anything else, but stay in the apartment and enjoy the tranquillity, the view and the atmosphere that Lanson Place had to offer. I enjoyed this city 24/24: early in the morning when I was waking up and looking over the swimming pool; during the day when I loved to watch the city through the huge windows and just be amazed by the beauty and the greatness of this city, realising my greatest achievement since I do blogging; in the same time, I loved to sit down in the living room during the evenings, with the laptop on my laps, working and taking a look from time to time over the city which seemed to never sleep.


Our apartment had a king size bed, a living room,  en suite bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. More than this, we had access to a washing machine and a laundry dryer. The residence also included modern amenities as wireless internet, iPod docking station, satellite TV, DVD Player and a surround audio system.


The kitchen was fully equipped with cooktop, cooking utensils, oven, refrigerator, pod coffee machine with pods and teas. We also had cutlery, plates, cups and mugs for two persons. We felt like home with all these at hand. I only have one regret: we didn’t have time to cook and I think that some pasta with a glass of wine, served in the beautiful living room would have been a nice experience. In the living room we had a flat screen TV and a split system air conditioning.



The bathroom was so nice that I could have had 3 showers a day. The truth is that this was one of the most beautiful bathrooms I have seen since we travel in South East Asia. It had a rain shower head which I love but there is a normal shower rose if you aren’t a fan of the rain type. Another nice thing was that the toilet was separate from the bathroom.

Every morning we enjoyed a complimentary breakfast buffet at the last floor, 48, in an area that embraces energising natural sunlight and beautiful view of skyscrapers.

I can say that this was one of the best breakfast I have ever tasted, with local and Western specialities: fresh fruit juices (4 types, of which my favourite was guava one), pastries (filled with vanilla, chocolate, butter croissants), coffee bar, made to order eggs, salamis, salmon, fresh fruits, salads, yoghurts, cheeses and cereals. My favourite breakfast is yoghurt and cereals, and the bast part is that they had healthy gourmet muesli (low sugar and healthy carbs).

I loved this view from the top which made me feel so happy and accomplished, so I was always choosing the tables with the greatest view: Petronas Towers and Kuala Lupur Tower.
One of my favourite areas from Lanson Place was the swimming pool, which is absolutely fantastic, situated at the 5^th floor. It was the first thing which I was seeing when I was waking up in the morning and looking over the window. There are 3 pools, including a lap pool, another crescent shaped novelty pool, a toddler pool for the little ones and there is even a Jacuzzi over behind all that. The access to the pools is free of charge for the hotel’s guests. What can be more beautiful than swim in a pool surrounded by palm trees and skyscrapers?
 

Also, there’s an indoor playground on the way out to the pool with lots of toys for toddlers and babies, a gym and a yoga shala which I didn’t had time to experience.


We had a genuine Kuala Lumpur experience from the moment we woke up until our head hit the pillow at night. But more than this, for me, Lanson Place was the one that taught me to believe and to fight for my dreams, taught me to dream big and never give up.
