In Uluwatu, we spent a few nights in Adila, a house with a motto that suits best to its philosophy – Home Yoga Food – and which is located only 10 km from Denpasar airport and 4 min by scooter to the beach.
Since we arrived, the owners Sandra and Salah made us feel very welcome and offered us a fresh juice made in house and then showed us the villa. Adila contains two houses which were designed with ample open space to capture the wind and unobstructive view of the wide expanse. In total, Adila has 6 top luxurious rooms:
-2nd floor has 2 superior Ocean View with balcony;
-1st floor has One Superior Ocean View with balcony;
-Ground floor has a Master Suite with garden and balcony;
-Lower floor has a room with Ocean View and one room with Sunrise View;
The roof top terrace facing the ocean, offers an astonishing view over the south part of Bali’s island and from this high point you can see Adila being surrounded by the ocean. The terrace is so good positioned that it offers the possibility to see both the sunrise and the sunset. The roof top features a Joglo (a traditional house of the Javanese people) which they bought and rebuild.
Salah and Sandra have a “no waste” principle, so parts of the Joglo which have not been used on the roof top are now well integrated in few parts of the modern architecture of the house. For example, the old windows and doors are used in the service/laundry area.
Between the two houses, lies an Infinity pool with a view over the hill, perfect to cool down during the hot days. The pool has a wooden floor deck with a few sunbeds and a relaxing area with vintage armchairs and a table where you can enjoy reading some good quality magazines.
Every morning you can enjoy a delicious, organic and healthy breakfast consisting of: a glass of fresh fruit juice; fruits with yoghurt and muesli; eggs with bread, jam and butter; tea and coffee.
This place is shining of cleanliness. The common areas are kept in impeccable conditions and in our room they were cleaning and making the bed every day.
Adila gives you the possibility to discover yoga in a perfect setup with a view over the hill and the ocean. For the moment, they offer classes once a week but soon they will have a personal trainer.
The team – since we arrived at Adila, Salah and Sandra proved to be more than just owners by the fact that they offered us lots of information, we had breakfast together, they invited us to taste their personal food, we shared stories and they made sure that we feel like home. Even when they were not there, their very well trained team was always helping us with anything that we needed.
As a conclusion, we spent some wonderful days with Adila team and they managed to offer us a home away from home. It is a place that we will surely miss.
