What and where to eat in Uluwatu?

Uluwatu offers a wide choice of restaurants, from cheap places serving local cuisine to trendy places where you can enjoy delicious meals from east to west. Because of its high traffic of tourists, new places open every month and the accent is on healthy food. Even if Balinese cuisine can be surprising and utterly delicious, sometimes I missed something “different”, something western, so I tried a few dishes and desserts which you must try if you are in Uluwatu:
          1.KAFEIN

At Kafein I tried Gado-Gado a deliciously comforting Indonesian mega salad served with crunchy prawn crackers and an incredibly delicious peanut dressing. Its ingredients are: assorted vegetables, tofu, eggs, and shrimp chips are dressed in peanut sauce. Together with a fresh coconut it makes a delicious and healthy lunch.

The team is very friendly and smiling, making the place very relaxing and its vintage decorations offers you multiple choices of photography so that you can fill your Instagram with cool pictures.

2.CAFE LA PASION
Cafe La Pasion is that place where you feel good not only because of their very good food, but also because its team.

Beside the delicious lemon ice tea that I drank, I tried Tuna Tostadas,  marinated fresh tuna in soy sauce, ginger, lemon grass on crispy tortilla and topped with coriander leave and sliced of jalapeno.

I know it sounds delicious but it was absolutely yumy-yummy!

3.THE CUBAN BALI

The Cuban Bali was from the very beginning the place that stole my heart and my stomach. I started with Cuban Guacamole Starter– flavoured with onion, lime, cilantro, and a bit of spice, served with tropical chips and corn chips. If I said tropical, then I added a Pineapple and Coconut-rum based elixir.

I continued with a vegetarian “Ropa Vieja”– braised shredded jack fruit and stewed together with capsicum, onions, garlic and Cuban spices, served with yellow rice and red beans.

For dessert, I chose a Churros which was the best Churros in the history of Churros.

I recommend this place with my full trust, it will not disappoint you. I promise! With such food, the team is rising to the same standards.

4. SECRET SPOT
When I was back home, I used to eat daily yoghurt with cereals. I could eat this even three times a day. In Uluwatu I discovered a super cute and coloured place, Secret Spot, who have “personalised” yoghurt.

You can choose between different “toppings” like sunflower and pumpkin seeds, peanuts, muesli, cornflakes, chia, etc. On top of it, you can choose a jam and fruits. The result? Yummy!

But this was not all, I didn’t leave without trying their cookies: a delicious banana brownie and a strawberries tart which reminded me of home and grandma.

Secret Spot is the place where I could start each of my days: fresh, healthy and coloured!

5.Warung  Makan MADE
One of the Indonesian traditional dishes is Nasi Goreng – fried rice with vegetables and egg. Warung Makan Made  is a local restaurant with more than decent prices where you can enjoy a real Nasi Goreng, truly delicious.

If you travel in Uluwatu, don’t forget to put on your list this restaurant. I promise you won’t be disappointed, neither your stomach will.
