The reason why I love Bali so much, is because it has to offer so many things: culture, delicious food, mountains, oceans, meditation, yoga, etc. Bali has something for everyone. Learning to surf, fishing, diving, snorkeling and stand-up paddle boarding – they’re all possible when you’re in Bali.
And the true reason why I crossed half of the world to reach Bali, were its beaches, of which wonderfulness I read about.
The most known and crowded beaches are Kuta and Semiyak. But today I want to talk about the less known beaches. Even if discovering them might be difficult sometimes, I guarantee you that it worth all efforts, as they are absolutely fantastic.
1.Green Bowl Beach
Getting to Green Bowl can be quite a task but once there, you can expect a quiet, secluded beach and world-class surf.
Located on the southern coast, visitors need to walk down hundreds of concrete steps to reach the beach. At the base are a few bat caves; pretty harmless during the day as most of the bats are asleep.
Green Bowl is known as one of the best surf spots on the island, and is not suitable for beginners because of the high waves. Access is from the long stairway at the temple next to the closed Bali Cliff Resort.
2. Melasti Beach and Waterfall
At Melasti beach, you won’t just be spoiled by a gorgeous beach and sunset, your view will also include a waterfall! Yes, you read it right, a waterfall pouring its waters gracefully back into the ocean, on the beach. Its beauty is so unreal it belongs in a storybook.
This hidden beach is located relatively close to Tanah Lot, a famous temple that you’ll probably also visit during your stay here. So plan the day ahead, Tanah Lot Temple in the afternoon, and grab a late lunch before you enjoy a tropical beach sunset.

3.Impossible Beach
The word of Impossible Beach may be derived from the access of the beach which is very unique and has difficulty passing through so many surfers called it as a Beach of impossible. Impossible Beach is a spot that is difficult to reach because it has challenging obstacles with narrow steps. It’s located next to Balangan beach, in southern Bali.
A downhill hike will bring you to one of the least visited but most stunning beaches of Bali. The great thing is that you can camp here, and enjoy the surroundings without anyone interrupting you. Impossible beach makes that distant dream of your own private beach a reality.
4. Yeh Leh Beach
Yeh Leh beach remains undeveloped as a tourist spot in Bali. The fact that not many people visit this beach has made it unique and peaceful. Yeh Leh beach is located in Jembrana, just off the Denpasar-Gilimanuk highway. This beach is not decorated with soft white sand like your ideal beach. Instead, thousands of boulders litter the shore, either covered in algae or washed clean by the waves. These mysterious rocks have been smoothed over for hundreds of years, leaving few clues about their origin.
The beach is actually easily accessible, and you can visit at low tide to see Yeh Leh in all its glory, with the boulders unearthed and many interesting marine animals caught in the rock pools. And if you can, don’t miss its stunning sunset, which lights up every shining rock on the shore.
5.Balangan Beach
Wedding photographers love it, surfers swear by it and travellers aiming to enjoy an afternoon paddle tread quietly to reach its soft white sands. Balangan is one of Bali’s more secluded beaches, making it the perfect getaway for visitors looking to beat the crowds and relax in their own private patch of Bali beachfront.
It’s the bit the developers haven’t got round to yet; a backpacker escapist fantasy with white-sand beach and palm trees.
6. Padang Padang Beach
For movie lovers, you must have watched Eat, Pray, Love movie starring Julia Roberts on her finest. Did you know that one of the scene has taken place in this secret beach?
Padang Padang Beach is located at Pecatu village, not far from the famous Uluwatu temple. The entrance to the beach is to go through a kind of limestone cave. Are you ready for some adventure? Discover your own Eat, Pray, Love story.
