Bathube

Our second accommodation in Phu Quoc was Daisy Resort, an incredible beautiful place, located on a western hill, facing the ocean. The highlight of this place were the people working there.

Lucy and us

From the first second we made contact with Lucy, the resort’s manager, we felt a strong connection and her desire to please and to help is absolutely amazing. She is the most polite person we have ever met. She came with the driver and picked us up from our first accommodation in a shuttle bus and on our way to their resort she asked if we had lunch. She was kind enough to ask the driver to drop us off at a vegetarian restaurant and waited for us until we took away some food.
When we arrived at the resort we went to the open air bar and we received a welcoming drink and then we sat down and had a short chat with Lucy about all the facilities they offer.

We were taken to our bungalow, which is very spacious and very nice decorated. It has a big terrace with a hammock where you can swing and relax and a bathtub where you can bathe and look at the ocean.

Don’t worry, you can get your privacy in the bathtub from the terrace with the two bamboo curtains they installed there. In the room we had a huge double bed with very comfortable mattress and pillows, a sofa laying in front of the bed and the huge sliding window gives you an amazing view over the swimming pool and the ocean.

It’s the perfect place to lie down, relax, play the guitar (available at the reception) and watch the sunset with the sky and the ocean turning red.

You will get a welcoming basket with fruits in your room. The outdoor bathroom is absolutely incredible and it features two showers: one under a roof and one in full open air.

After getting accommodated with the room, we went for a swim in their huge infinity pool which has an ocean view.

Sunbeds and towels are included and towels can be taken to the beach as well. They have a partner on the beach and you will get there complimentary sunbeds as well. It was a very nice surprise to receive complimentary refreshing drinks which they serve from the bar between 16:00 – 17:00. If you get tired of swimming you can enjoy a billiard table, close to the bar.
In the evening we went to the night market with the shuttle bus from the resort and Lucy was kind enough to leave a note for us at the reception with a few places to visit there.
The second day in the morning it was time for breakfast and we assure you that it was one of the best buffet we have ever had.

Our favourites were the fresh watermelon juice, fresh fruits with sweet yoghurt and scrambled eggs with vegetables. There is a big choice of other tasty options and even traditional fried noodles and baked beans. Lucy prepared for us the traditional Vietnamese coffee with ice and condensed milk. It was interesting and we found out that it is in the Vietnamese culture to drink this kind of coffee.

We had a great stay and the people here made us feel like home. We really loved this place and we felt sad when we had to leave. By the way, they even transferred us to our next accommodation.
If you will ever visit Phu Quoc island, don’t miss Daisy Resort. We guarantee you that you will have a great time staying here.
