When I checked Hostelworld.com for accommodation in Porto, the first hostel that drew my attention was one with a cute name: Oporto City Hostel. Oporto is also the name given to Porto city, meaning “at the port”.

Oporto City Hostel is situated right in the heart of Porto, only 200 m from Trinidade, the main metro station of the city and 15 minutes walking from all the city’s attractions. More, a supermarket is situated at only 7 minutes walking. Because of the distance between the hostel and the city center, the prices at the restaurants near the hostel are cheaper than the rest of the city, thing which matters when you travel on a budget and when you don’t want to meet tourists from all over.
When I arrived I met a very funny and welcoming team which welcomed me with smiles and and lots of recommendations for the city, but also a city map. After I checked in, I received the access code from the hostel’s door, because they have a secure entering system. A team member presented me the hostel and lead me to my room where I was about to spend few nights.
I chose a 6 persons room which was located on the 1st floor and which was spacious enough, with own bathroom. More than this, it has personal storage, so I always kept my things safe. The bathroom and the room were very clean and the bed was very comfortable.

On the ground floor, close to the reception, there is a big living room with few chairs and couches where you can relax and a fully equipped kitchen which allows you to feel like home. What else could you want ?

The hostel was a house which was completely rehabilitated and modernly and colorful furnished, making it a cozy and friendly place where I really enjoyed being. It is a wonderful place to meet other travelers.

The internet connection is very good in the whole hostel and more than this, close to the reception you can find few PCs which you can use.
If you want to go there by car, you need to know that the hostel offers free parking during your stay.
For me, a very important aspect was the cleanliness of the hostel, starting with the showers and the rooms and finishing with the common areas, like the kitchen.

Probably this is the main reason for which I will chose Oporto City Hostel if I will come back to Porto again and I recommend it with full trust.
